DENVER – There is perhaps no better way to build community around difficult challenges and loss than to bring people together to let them know that they are not alone, at least that is the hope that Dazzle owner Donald Rossa and United Survivor’s Board President, Dr. Sally Spencer-Thomas are operating under for Monday night. Rossa is hosting a special fundraiser, “Live, Love, Listen. A Musical Tribute for Mental Health Month,” on May 16th at 7 pm. United Suicide Survivors International (US), a Denver based suicide prevention related nonprofit is the beneficiary.

“The interesting thing about this partnership is that pretty much everyone involved, from the artists, the organizers, and many who will be in the crowd Monday night,  have been affected by mental health conditions – most of us by suicide,” said Spencer-Thomas. She lost her brother to suicide in 2004 and has been advocating for suicide prevention and mental health promotion ever since.

"Dazzle is honored to be a part of letting others know they are not alone, even in their darkest moments. This fundraiser supports US and its mission to leverage the expertise of people directly impacted by suicide for large scale change. We're all better because of it," said Dazzle owner, Donald Rossa.

US aims to be a home for people who have experienced suicide loss, suicide attempts and suicidal thoughts and feelings, along with their friends and families, and to empower them to evoke social and cultural change. All of the organization’s board members and volunteers have this type of “lived experience,” as it is commonly referred to in the field.

“Our hearts are full of gratitude, thank you to Dazzle and the musicians for supporting us and celebrating Mental Health Month with us in such a fun and special way. We are honored to be the beneficiary,” said Spencer-Thomas.

Doors open at 5 pm, and the show starts at 6 pm at 1512 Curtis Street. Tickets are available at https://www.venuepilot.co/events/54979/orders/new and range from $15-$100. People with lived experience can purchase tickets at a discount price.
